CORNELIS (CASS) JANSEN 1931 - 2006 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather at his home, with his family at his side, on Monday, January 30, 2006. Remaining to forever cherish Cass' memory are his loving wife Florence (nee Marcino), of 42 years of marriage; children, Darin (Traci), Johanna (Henri), Nicole and Brock (Kim); grandchildren, Ashlie, David, Alyscia, Keila, Troy, Devon and Paige; sisters, Anne (Hank), Corey and Elly (Dick); brother-in-law Zigmund Marcino; sisters-in-law, Liz O'Neil, Joyce Shewan, Judy Tickner (Ken) and Lorraine Nychuck (Terry), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wout and Johanna Jansen; infant brother Liam; brother Wout Jansen; sister Beppie Plantema; stepmothers, Groubie and Lottie; mother-in-law Mary Marcino; nephew Maurice O'Neil; brothers-in-law, Kashmir Marcino, Dick O'Neil and Keith Shewan. Cass was born in Wyk by Duurstede. At age 22, he immigrated to Canada. He worked as a farm labourer in Minnedosa then moved on to Winnipeg, where he worked as a milkman, then the Police Force and retired from Air Canada Cargo after 32 years. Dad had a strong dedication to his Christian Faith. He was a self-taught pianist/organist. He loved to share his gifts with all parishes that he attended over the years along with his vocal talents, which he shared with the St. Mary's Cathedral Choir, Christ the King Church in Stonewall and our Lady of Perpetual Help. Cass also was a Knight with the Knights of Columbus for 21 years. But Dad's passion was taking great pride and joy in maintaining his beautiful landscaped yards. He could always be seen out before dawn and late after dusk tending to his yard and gardens. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 3 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert presiding and Rev. Msgr. Stan Jaworski, concelebrant. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. All his close dear friends are considered Honorary Pallbearers. Pallbearers will be Zig Marcino, Terry Nychuck, Doug Ardiel, Kevin Marcino, Randy Marcino and Marc-Andre Drolet. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cass' memory to the Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. My soul has wings and I have left my burdens behind. I am at peace. Cass' arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
