PETER JOHN WYLIE 1958 - 2006 Suddenly on January 30, 2006, at his residence, Peter John Wylie went to join his parents, Herbert Marion Wylie and Philomene Marie Wylie in eternal peace. Peter was the beloved brother of Carole Wylie and Frank Wylie and the cherished Uncle Pete of Sloane Drennan, Philip Wylie, Ben Basarab and Adam Basarab. Peter is also survived by many life-long friends. Family and friends were Pete's life, whether at Bomber and Grey Cup games with friends, or summer times with the family at Ottermere. His quick wit and good humour will be remembered by all who knew him. His photography of the plants and creatures around us as well as his passion for amateur astronomy were his connections with nature. He was an avid student of the politics and events of the American Civil War and had hoped to one day visit historic sites in the Southern States, as well as the original hometown of the Wylie family in North America. Peter was a graduate of Windsor Park Collegiate and the University of Manitoba. He was a long time employee of Investors Group, most recently as a Senior Project Manager in the Information Services branch. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2006 at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 255 Stafford St. with reception to follow. A private interment beside his parents at Green Acres will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers Peter may be remembered by a donation in his name to your favourite charity. • Pete deserves at least one comment here. He was 49 years old when he died of a ruptured blood vessel. I'm convinced that had this happened during the day he could have been saved. Watching CFL play-off games has never been the same. And with the passing of his brother Frank I am down two good friends. Salute! - Posted by: Kevin Ferris (Friend) on: Mar 06, 2025
