Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMABEL LILLIAN VAN BASTELAERE January 17, 1917 - January 28, 2006 Mabel Van Bastelaere passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on January 28, 2006 at the age of 89 years. Her last days were spent with loving family at her side. Mabel will be sadly missed by her children, Bryan Lupe (Penny), Sandra Wells (Gary), Ray and Ivo Van Bastelaere; niece Mary Allard; nephew David Johns; and grandchildren, Joanne, Krystine, Bryan, Beau, Kevin and Chris. She was predeceased by her husbands, Joe Lupe and Charlie Van Bastelaere; and sister Dorothy. Mabel was a very glamorous and vivacious woman who in her younger years loved to entertain, and spent many happy times dining and dancing with her husband Joe at the Rancho Don Carlos. She and Charlie spent a number of years in Lac du Bonnet where they enjoyed boating and Goldeye fishing from their riverside residence. Together, they returned to Winnipeg to be close to family and grandchildren. In her later years, Mabel became a resident of Tuxedo Villa. Many thanks to Mabel's care givers at Tuxedo Villa and to the doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital. Cremation has taken place at Thomson In the Park . In accordance with family wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
