STANLEY JERRY COLLINS January 1, 1917 - January 26, 2006 Stan the Man died peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Poseidon Care Centre. Stanley will be fondly remembered by his friends, Gerry Loewen, Ron Beach and Colleen Gibson. He was predeceased by his parents, Olga and Paul Kulnysh; brother Ted and wives, Doris Drodza and Ann Peaches Huscak. All who knew and cared for Stanley will remember him with a smile and a sigh. Most recent were the years he spent at Poseidon Care Centre. The staff were patient with him, could joke with him and above all deeply cared for him. Everyone of them will hold a sweet and crazy tender memory of him. The last few days were an endless expression of their love for him and real grief at losing him. A special thank you to all staff and volunteers at Poseidon Care Centre for allowing Stanley to live and die in dignity and peace, in particular his friend Judith from Spiritual Care and Kirk who went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Stanley will also be remembered by his old friends in the jazz circuit, and up until May, 2005 by Cecil Lewsey his late best friend. Together they are playing their saxophones in that great big jazz band in the sky. Stanley was a prominent professional tenor saxophone player who played in all of the big bands of Winnipeg in the late 1930s to early 1960s. A few by name were the Cavaliers at the Royal Alec, Hammy's Band, Len Pattenden at the Roseland and with Jimmy King. He lived and breathed jazz, women and life. Never wanting to get old! In compliance with Stanley's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Interment will take place in the spring. Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light . Dylan Thomas (1952) Stanley's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
