LOUIS ALLAN JOSEPH MECONSE February 11, 1943 - February 2, 2006 Louis passed away peacefully, surrounded and comforted by the love of his family and friends at Riverview Health Centre. Louis was predeceased by his parents, Isadore and Sarah; foster mother, Sally; sisters, Aline and Elizabeth; dog, Tammy. He will be remembered by his wife, Beverley; daughter, Stephanie (Wallie); foster father, Dave; brother, Joseph; sisters, Mary Jane, Mary-Ann (John), Rose Marie (Nick), and Eva; many nieces and nephews; dogs, Riley, Becky, Coffee. Louis was born in Churchill, MB. He was raised by a foster family in Lorette, MB. His dream was to be an RCMP officer but his life took him to a different pathway. Louis was involved in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years. He worked with CNR as a railway car waiter, attended Red River Community College to learn commercial cooking and became restaurant manager at MTS Restaurant. He also worked in the meat packing industry at Canada Packers, Burns, East-West Packers, Jack Forgan, Schneiders, and Maple Leaf. Louis's passion was for the outdoors and nature, and his spare time was spent fishing, hunting, camping and enjoying the outdoors. He touched many people wherever he went. Louis is loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Memorial Service at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on February 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louis's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
