MICHAEL (JIM) NAGONCHY Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Michael passed away on February 1, 2006 at the age of 58 years. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Helen. His memory will be cherished by his aunt Annie Cesmytruk; his dear friends, Robert and Maureen Drummond, Gene and Marion Gaines; his loyal companion Brownie and numerous other family members and friends. Michael was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 11, 1947. He was employed with Manitoba Public Insurance, retiring early in 1995. Michael was a simple and unassuming man, a generous soul who was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed one. He enjoyed going to garage sales, visiting his Auntie Anne in Vita, collecting antiques and shopping trips to Grand Forks with Maureen. His biggest thrill was spending Christmas with the Drummonds and then heading out for Boxing Day shopping with Pixie. Michael was a huge Blue Bombers fan; he had season tickets for years, enjoying the games with Robert. A special thank you to Lyle Bauer and the rest of the Bomber players and coaching staff for their recent conversations and support to Michael. Michael was a compassionate supporter of animal rights and causes. He was especially generous to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 6 at 1:00 p.m. at Vita Funeral Home, Vita, MB with burial following the service. We sincerely thank the staff at HSC and CancerCare Manitoba for their compassion and care they took with Michael.
