Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELENE REKRUT 1932 - 2006 After a long and courageous battle with cancer Helene Rekrut passed away at the Fort Saskatchewan Health Centre on Thursday, January 19, 2006. She was born November 16, 1932 in Sundown, MB to the late Steve and Annie Eluik. Mourning her loss are her children, Sharon (Bill) Parsons, William (Lois) Rekrut, and Patricia (Mel) Rekrut; as well as two grandsons, Jacob Rekrut and Nikola Rekrut. Also surviving are brothers, Paul (Beverly) Eluik, Mike (Marie) Eluik, John (Judy) Eluik and Nick (Sonja) Eluik; as well as sisters, Mary Holland, Iris (Leo) Langlois and Alice (Roger) Loughead. Helene also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her and the special things she did for them. Some of them only called her Baba . Helene spent many years working for Grey Goose Bus Lines and was affectionately known as Mother Goose . After retiring she moved to Sundown, MB where she enjoyed her gardening, knitting and long walks. She made sure that all who visited her never left without tasting her Great Ukrainian Cooking . Three years ago she made the big move from Sundown to Fort Saskatchewan, AB to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Helene was predeceased by her parents; brother William; sister Lillian Lindholm; and an infant daughter Lori Ann. At her request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place in Fort Saskatchewan, AB and the interment of ashes will take place at Chapple Cemetery, Barwick, at a later date. Vichnaya Pamyat
