Born: Mar 24, 1915
Date of Passing: Jan 23, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMID (MARY MARGARET) WIEDEMAN (nee KASTNER) Peacefully on January 23, 2006, at Riverview Health Center. Born March 24, 1915, in Morris, MB. A graduate of Morris High School and active in the girl's softball team as their star catcher. In her early twenties she moved to Winnipeg to be an aide at the Western Canada School for the Deaf which, early on in the Second World War, was moved to Montreal. Like so many women who helped the Canadian war effort by filling jobs left vacant by our overseas bound boys, she took employment at Nordyne Aircraft. At the end of the war she returned to Winnipeg and started a family. She worked in retail, first at The Bay and then Eaton's. An honest, caring, kind, compassionate woman, always ready to lend a hand, she was an irrepressible but harmless practical joker and possessed a wicked sense of humour. She will be greatly missed. Cremation has already taken place and, in accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service.
