Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY HALOWATY (nee MAKSYMETZ) Unexpectedly on February 1, 2006, Mary Halowaty passed away at the age of 71 years. Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Diane Hastman (Don), Lorraine, Gordie (Kim), Brian (Janice), Carol Kilbrei (Rick); daughter-in-law Carolyn; grandchildren, Kelly (Derek), Dana (Ryan), Amanda (Bryan), Daniel, Meagan, Lauren, Peter, Kayleigh, Nicholas and Steven; great-grandson Avery, her sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband Dan; her son Glenn; parents, John and Ann Maksymetz; and her brothers, Morris and Fred. Mary was born in Venlaw, MB on October 15, 1934 and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 14 to find employment. This is where she would meet her future husband Dan. Mary and Dan dated for two years, and were married on November 1, 1952. Together, they raised six children, all of whom she was so proud of. Mary moved to Beausejour with her husband Dan and their six children where they operated a grocery store for several years. In 1979 Mary and Dan moved to Ear Falls, ON, where they operated a hotel, motel and restaurant until Dan's passing in 1989. After Dan's passing, Mary retired to Beausejour. Mary was a hard working woman, a wonderful cook, and a wonderful Mother. She especially enjoyed times together with her children and grandchildren, and always looked forward to those times. She always had an ear to lend and advice to give. We will all truly miss her. Prayers will be held Monday, February 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. East, Beausejour, MB. In keeping with Mom's wishes, a private funeral with her children and grandchildren will be held. We would like to extend our thanks to Mom's home care workers, with a special thanks to Beth, the nursing staff at the Beausejour Hospital, Dr. Dueck and to Dr. Campbell for his most recent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
