Mary was born in Winnipeg; later her family moved to Hazelridge where she attended Elementary and High School, completing her education at Wesley College, followed by Normal School. She taught in Rosa, Carlowrie and in Hazelridge - the school she had attended. Mary entered the Civil Service working in Ottawa and Hamilton during the Second World War after which she moved to Vancouver where she met her husband Jule. They moved to Santa Rosa where they operated a hardware store and later a fireplace and accessory shop which is currently managed by Eleanor and her husband Jim. Mary belonged to the First Presbyterian Church of Santa Rosa. She enjoyed a few tours sponsored by the church, the most memorable one being the trip to the Holy Land. Mary maintained a warm and close relationship with her families in Winnipeg and did not miss special family celebrations. Lovingly remembered by her family May she rest in peace
