MARY MAE HUNTER
Date of Passing: Feb 05, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY MAE HUNTER For our mother and grandmother, you have shown us that life has limitless opportunities, and no matter what life brings, you have always had faith in us. We love you! Courageously, on Thursday, February 2, 2006 Mae left us to join the angels. On Sunday, February 5, 2006 in Paris, France, His Excellency, Bishop Michael Hrynchyshyn gave Mae a special place in the Mass he celebrated. Mae will be sadly missed by her precious Bonita, Jason, Ann-Marie, Amor, June, Dolores; great-grandchildren, god-children, nephews, nieces, friends and her son-in-law Barry who has been a pillar of strength. She loved her family with passion and possessed a great will to live. Her soul mate Stashy was taken suddenly in 1961 and her beloved son Richard in 1978. She always felt blessed by the gift of her daughter, Bonita, whom she loved with all her heart. She was Gram to her dear grandchildren Jason and Ann Marie and cherished the pictures of her great-grandchildren. One of her greatest gifts was her wisdom and encouragement, especially during times of doubt and worry. A romanticist, Mae enjoyed all things beautiful but had a feisty and determined spirit which she sustained till the end. Mae was an 'idea person', creative and intelligent, she made things work and always gave 110% to everything that she did. She was a true lady with an impeccable fashion sense, a great dancer and lover of music. One of her greatest joys over the years was listening to her grandson Jason play his guitar. In the summer of 2005 she posed for the cover of his CD, Jason's tribute to his Gram . She worked at many careers including fashion sales, and managed retail stores such as Some Plants N Things which gave Mae an opportunity to put her extremely green thumb to use. Mae was one of the founders of Parents Without Partners and owner of one of the first convenience stores, The Loaf N Jug . Prayers and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. on Wednesday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Bohdan Lukie C.Ss.R. will officiate. Pallbearers: John M. Daniels, Ted Short, Pamela Wilson and John A. Daniels and Honorary Pallbearer Ted Herbachuk. Epistle read by Dolores Daniels. Heartfelt thank you to Fr. Bohdan for prayers and visits to Mae, and to the kind and loving staff at Golden Links Lodge. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be addressed to Golden Links Lodge in memory of Mae. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
