OLIVE ANNE CATHERINE WEBB (nee BARKLEY) Olive passed away on February 5, 2006 at the Charleswood Care Centre at the age of 79. She is survived by her husband Dennis; four children, Bonnie (Grant Phillips), Patricia (Dale Rasmussen), Debra (Robert Crowe) and Robert (Connie); nine grandchildren, Lisa, Christie, Laura, Sheryl, James, Bobby, Ashley, Courtenay and Kurtis; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Lindsay, Cian, Hadrian, Katherine, Isabelle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Nellie Barkley and brother Stanley. Olive (Ollie) was born in Moose Jaw, SK March 7, 1926 and raised on a farm near Limerick, SK. She attended Valance Public School and Limerick High School. After graduation she trained as a hairdresser in Regina, SK and then found employment with Ronmier Beauty Salon in Moose Jaw. She met her husband Dennis in 1945 and they were married on February 26, 1947 shortly after Dennis rejoined the RCAF. During Dennis's career they lived across Canada in Comox, Victoria, BC, Edmonton, AB, Winnipeg, MB, Trenton and Ottawa, Quebec City, PQ and Chatham, NB. She loved her family and could be depended upon to assist them whenever she was needed. Ollie liked to keep busy so when she retired from hairdressing, she taught ceramics and then paper tole. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 1997 and was admitted to the Charleswood Care Centre in September 2003 where she received the professional assistance that her husband couldn't provide. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Flowers are gratefully declined. Remembrances can be made in Ollie's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Winnipeg, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
