EWDOKIA PELECH Peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Ewdokia Pelech, aged 82 years. Ewdokia Lesiw was born on May 8, 1923 in the village of Zbora, Povit Kalush, Ternopilska Oblast, Western Ukraine. In 1942, at the age of 19, she was sent to work in Germany. Ewdokia immigrated to Canada in 1948. Initially, she worked at St. Joseph's Vocational School, followed by 30 years at Rogan and Lawrence Furriers. Ewdokia leaves to mourn her passing daughter Ewhenia and husband David Gnutel; son Peter and wife Anita; grandchildren, Alexis, Daria, and Gregory Gnutel; Michelle and Cody Pelech; nieces and nephews in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents, Oleksa and Anna Lesiw; sisters, Anastasia, Maria, Magda; and brother Fred. Prayers will be sung 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rt. Rev. Msgr. M. Buyachok officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital.
