EDGAR ROBERT WILLIMENT Our beloved father, Edgar Robert Williment passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Boyne Lodge in Carman. The eldest son of Emmanuel and Emma Williment, Edgar was born in Miami, MB, December 23, 1910. Edgar grew up and spent his entire working life in the Opawaka district of Manitoba. Edgar and Myrtle raised their family on the farm, retiring to Miami in 1978 and then to Carman in 1999. Edgar married Myrtle Harde on December 7, 1940 and in their 62 years together they had five sons, George, Donald, Lorne, Harvey and Russel. Dad spent his 95 years as a farmer and family man, he enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad took an active role in the operation of the Opawaka school, as a long term secretary, always enjoyed the summer fairs and auction sales. He rarely missed a Miami Rockets hockey game and would travel throughout southern Manitoba through the play off season. Dad was a fair, hard working, honest and generous man full of integrity. He was always ready to help any family or friend in need and the door was always open to many visits by friends and family. Dad was admired for his incredible ability to remember community history, names and dates. Edgar leaves to mourn his passing his beloved sons, Donald (Beverly), Lorne (Beverley), Harvey (Linda) and Russel (Anne). Grandchildren, Keith (Shawna), Jackie (Trevor), Wayne, Marlys (Barry), Kenneth (Missy), Kevin (Leanne), David (Kim), Gary and Cindy. Great-grandchildren, Ashley, Rayliegh, Travis, Justine, Taylor, and Jenna. Brother Elmer; brothers-in-law, Gordon (Margaret), Keith (Sharon), Ken (Leola); sisters-in-law, Yvonne, Hazel, Alice and Gladys (Jim); numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Myrtle (2003), infant son George and grandson Dwayne. Sisters, Alice, Olive, and Grace. Brothers Alan, Frank, Walter and Raymond. Brothers-in-law, Norman and Roy. Sisters-in-law, Alice, Clara, and June. The family would like to thank the home care staff at Evergreen Place, Carman Hospital, and all the staff of the Boyne Towers, and Boyne Lodge for all their support and care of Dad over the last six years. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Miami Community Hall.
