All -- I am the son of one of Ruth's great friends, Eileen Hedley, currently living in White Rock BC. Ruth (and Jim) were always kind to me and good to be around. I now live near Ottawa, and whenever in Winnipeg I always made a point to drop in on Ruth for a coffee and a chat. I saw her on New Year's Day this year and, although it was clear she was losing her battle, she had not lost her sense of humour nor her self-composure. She was a grand lady and I know everyone misses her keenly already. - Posted by: Bruce Hedley (Family) on: Feb 08, 2006
