LUCIANO MATIAS Peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2006 Luciano Matias passed away at the age of 61. Luciano was born December 25, 1944 in Urqueira, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1967. In 1968 Luciano returned home to marry his beloved wife Julia of 37 years. Besides his loving wife, left behind to cherish his memories are his children, Aderito (Helena), Anabela (Carlos), Clara (Giuseppe) and grandchildren, Kayla, Bryan, Dimaggio, Kiara, Tomas, and Dylan. Predeceased by his father Antonio in 1966 and his brother Garcia in 1995 (Marquitas). Also left to mourn is his mother Julia, sisters, Laura (Mario), Natalia (Franklin), Maria Emelia, Celeste (Martinho) and his beloved nephews and nieces in Canada, Portugal and France. Our father had a passion for music. He often played for family and for the Portuguese community. His grandchildren were surely his greatest fans, but everyone delighted in the cheerful Portuguese music he would bring to life on his Accordion. He also enjoyed working with his hands and completing renovations around the house. He gladly would help and teach those, especially his family with any projects that needed his skilled talent. Our father was a quiet man, but he enjoyed the company of his family and close friends. We will always cherish the wonderful times we all spent together, the stories we exchanged, the laughter, his homemade wine, and mom's delicious Portuguese cooking. His presence will be deeply missed by our mother that we so lovingly admire for her strength and courage she gave everyone, especially our father throughout his last days with us. Pai, (father) there are no words to describe the sorrow we feel in our hearts that you had to leave this world. However its gives us great comfort to know you are in good hands with our Lord and Jesus. Avo, (Grandfather), we will miss you. We love you very much and we know you will watch over us as we grow up. We will always love you and remember you all the days of our life. Rest in Peace DEUS TE DE ETERNO DESCANSO We would like to thank all the staff at the Health Science Centre.
