HELEN DANOWSKI May 15, 1919 - February 7, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother at the age of 86. Helen passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with her family at her side. Helen will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her son Brian (Tracey) (grandchildren, Wyatt and Paige); daughter Sharron Carriere (Gerry) and son Ernie (Pat) (grandchildren, Jennifer and Karleigh); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Eddie in 1983; parents, Albert and Rosalia Cieczkiewicz; brothers, Martin, Frank and John and sisters, Sophie Cieczkiewicz, Mary Tucker, Katie Rozmus and Mildred Kantor. Helen was born and raised in Highland Glen, MB where she resided until her marriage to Eddie on Valentine's Day, 1942. Mom and Dad lived in Middlechurch, MB where they market gardened for many years. In 1966 they moved to Garden City in Winnipeg at which time Mom decided on a dare to apply for a job at Eaton's where she worked for many years. Mom loved her gardening while living in Middlechurch and was also famous among family and friends for her cooking, especially her Perogies and Cabbage Rolls. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving were always a feast at her house. Mom was always very proud of her grandchildren and she took great pride in their accomplishments and loved them all very much. Our family would like to thank Dr. Ebbling-Treon and the staff on 6E of St. Boniface Hospital for their loving and compassionate care of Mom during her final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, 250 Burrin Avenue, West Kildonan with Rev. Msgr. Michael Moore as celebrant. A private interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
