MARIA GLORIA ELIAS LOPEZ Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer and with her husband at her side, Maria passed away on February 10, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre. Maria is survived by her loving husband Manuel; three daughters, Wendy, Marlene and Jessica; mother Francisca; brother Valentin (Antonia); sisters, Cruz and Josefa (Gilmar); sister Doris; mother-in-law Angela; brothers-in-law, Antonio (Telby) and Jose (Ana); sisters-in-law, Felipa (Antonio), Maria-Luisa, Margarita (Alejandro), Herminia, Luisa and Dolores; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her father Jose; and her brothers-in-law, Roberto and Higinio. Maria was born on April 5, 1958 in El Salvador and came to Winnipeg with her family in 1988. She worked at Kitchen Craft for 13 years. Her family was the main focus of her life. Maria was a very special person, always caring for others especially in the Spanish speaking community. The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and CancerCare Manitoba for their support. Also thanks to her numerous friends for their love and care. Prayers will be said on Sunday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe at Brazier with Brother Jorge Villegas, O.F.M. Cap. Interment will follow in El Salvador, Central America. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
