DOROTHY MAY (DORIS) LAND (nee FLOYD) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Land on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 88 years. Doris was predeceased by her husband Earl Joseph Land in 1994, four sisters and four brothers. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Barry (Donna); daughters, Gail Duncan, Donna Wolanski (Wayne), Valerie Brooks (Gary); two sisters; one brother; six grand-children; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as her special friend Madeline at Country Club. Doris lived her life to the fullest, always putting her family ahead of herself. She always saw the good in everyone. In her earlier years she enjoyed playing baseball, having pitched for the Winnipeg Ramblers. She loved to travel and enjoyed her gambling bus trips with the girls, as well as the trips to Las Vegas, Florida, Texas and Mexico. Her favourite pastimes were shopping, gambling, playing cards, travelling, baseball, bingo, jokes, country music and dancing. The family would like to extend our special thanks to Dr. Fletcher, her home care workers and the staff of 3 North Grace Hospital for all their wonderful care. A celebration of Doris' life will take place on Monday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Green Acres Cemetery.
