Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL STILKOWSKI It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our so dearly loved dad, gigi and great-gigi, Mike Stilkowski at The Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg on February 10, 2006. Born in Thalberg, MB, October 21, 1918 on the family farm, Dad resided there until he decided to hop a freight train in his youth and join the army. During that time he met our mom Toni Zajac. They fell in love and were married in August 1944. They started their family and made their home in Winnipeg. Dad was a hard worker and was later employed by CPR/VIA Rail as a sleeping car porter until his retirement. He was a kind generous man who loved his family dearly and was loved in return. Dad was predeceased by our loving mom on July 2, 1982; his parents, John and Tekla Stilkowski and brother Nick. He will be so missed by his children, Marion (Bob) Chorney, Elsie Warner, Donna Stilkowski, Pat (Terry) Nelson, Janet (Terry) Hay, Danny and David Stilkowski; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary and his dearly beloved brother Peter. The family thanks the wonderful staff of Middlechurch Home for their compassionate care of our dad and gigi. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with viewing being held one hour prior to the service. Interment and reception will follow. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Pallbearers are grandsons, Glenn Chorney, Terry Nelson Jr., Brandon Stilkowski, Scott Hay and nephews Joe Lesko and Bill Rolsky.
