EDNA HILL It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and granny, Edna Hill (nee Tomchak) at age 63 on February 11, 2006. She will meet in heaven, her beloved husband, William Hill. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Brenda (Lance), Tammy (Trevor), David (Marcia), Sherry, and grandchildren: Michaela, Emily, Marijka, Kiersten, Mason, Holly, Jocelyn, and Noah. She will also be missed by her brother Roger (Carol); sisters, Doris (Art) and Pauline (Brian); mother-in-law Rosetta Hill; brother-in-law Jack (Mary); sisters-in-law, Helen, Millie (Hugh), Betty (Adelard), Doreen and Barb; as well as many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Lucy Tomchak; father Alec Tomchak; brothers, Raymond and Donald; father-in-law Thomas Hill; and brother-in-law Robert Hill. Edna grew up in the Badger area, where she met Bill. They married and started their life together in Winnipeg and later moved to East Selkirk, where they raised their four children. From a short order cook, to a seamstress, then welder, she culminated her talents as a nurse's aid at the Bethel Home in Selkirk where she retired. Her talents didn't stop there, as she created many beautiful memories in sewing matching outfits for her and her girls, knitting exquisite sweaters for family and friends, cross stitching masterpieces that are framed keepsakes for forever, crocheting baby outfits for all her grandchildren to Lord's Prayers for her children, and sharing her many talents with Bill designing and painting his woodworking projects. She enjoyed spending time with her soul mate, their grandchildren, family and special friends. Many thanks to Mom's two special friends, Doreen and Carol. You are truly Mom's guardian angels. Edna's family would also like to thank friends and family for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edna's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba or Palliative Care Unit at Selkirk General Hospital, Box 5000 Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. The memorial service celebrating her life will be held Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach.
