SHARON LYNNE BLANK After a 20 month struggle with ovarian cancer, Sharon died at home in Toronto on January 19, 2006. She was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 1, 1961. Sharon graduated from Garden City Collegiate and the University of Manitoba. She is survived by husband Christian Stansfield; brothers, David Blank and Gordon Blank of Winnipeg; and nephew Robert Blank also of Winnipeg. Sharon was predeceased by her father Norman Blank; mother Edna May Clarke (nee Hickling); brother Donald Blank; sister-in-law Wendy Blank (nee Tomchuk); and nephew Daniel Blank. Sharon had been a secondary school teacher for the last 10 years after a career as a project manager in an architectural firm. She loved quilting, reading, gardening and her cat, Tigger. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakbank United Church at 582 Balsam Crescent, Oakbank, MB. The family wishes to thank those who called, wrote, visited, laughed, cried, prayed, gave care to and loved Sharon and the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Church of Canada Foundation or to the Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Scholarship Fund, in Toronto, ON, where she taught.
