WILLIAM JOSEPH (BILL) PERT January 25,1912 - February 6, 2006 It is with great sadness and loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Bill Pert on February 6, 2006, at Concordia Place. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Joan Pert and Phyllis Huggins (Wayne); grandchildren, Leslie (Enid) Carol (Mike) Laurie (Chris), Brian (Sharon), Gary (Paulette); great-grandchildren, Stevie, Blaine, Nicholas, Suzanne (Dan), Gabrielle, Sara and Marissa; and great-great grandchild Savannah; and his sister Kit Moody of Vancouver, numerous nephews and nieces. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Bella (Isabel Lindsay); brother Jack; and sisters Emily and Doll. Bill Pert was the type of man who chose to see the good in everything and everybody. If you were in his house, he was your friend whether he knew you well or not. A friend of yours was a friend of his. After working many years in all kinds of different occupations (which gave him a great number of varied skills), he retired to the country where he would live a great many years before he eventually moved to Concordia Place. He particularly enjoyed the outdoors, and the company of others. In fact, to Bill, the only thing better than the great outdoors was the sharing of the great outdoors with others. He and his late wife Bella, spent many years in cottages moving about the Whiteshell / Interlake areas. For many years Bill kept a daily journal of the days of his life that were less about him, and more about things like the kind of day it was, who came by, and what birds he saw that day. Bill took great pleasure in just being , and would spend hours and hours enjoying life's simple pleasures like the sound of the wind, or the smell of morning dew. He quietly touched the lives of many through his quiet words of wisdom often punctuated with humour. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 13, Concordia Place, 1000 Molson Ave. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in the family plot. We wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to the 4th Floor staff for their dedicated care giving of Bill for the past six years. Thank you - you are all special. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Concordia Place Residents Recreation or the Humane Society. Bill will be forever in hearts and minds. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
