KURT TERHOCH Peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2006, Kurt Terhoch, at 84 years, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. He will be greatly missed by his beloved children, Marvin and Sherrin Terhoch, Leonard Terhoch and Liz Scully, and Cheryl and Martin Billinkoff; by his pride and joy, his grand-children, Marshall and Sherry, Andrew and Jodi, Iain, Erin and Jim, Daniel, Mira, Sierra, and Sasha; and his loving great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Emma and Nate. He is also survived by his twin brother Rudi Terhoch, sisters-in-law Lil Rosenberg, Pearl Globerman, and Rochelle Neuringer, and brothers-in-law Al Wayborn and Sheldon Neuringer. Kurt was predeceased by his beloved wife Pearl, his parents Adolph and Frieda Terhoch, Pearl's parents Fred and Molly Rosenberg, sisters-in-law Sara Wayborn and Anne Terhoch, and brothers-in-law Maurice Rosenberg and Abie Rosenberg. Kurt was born in Germany in 1921 and immigrated to Canada with his parents and brother Rudi in 1939. He and Pearl were married in 1944 and shared 55 years together. They built a life based on love, hard work and joy in raising their children. Kurt's care and devotion to Pearl during her long illness remain an inspiration to us all. Kurt loved people and people loved him. He had a big, wonderful smile and abundant energy; he was the consummate extrovert. He will be greatly missed by his large extended family, his many friends and the multitude of acquaintances, from many walks of life, he made over the years. Kurt worked hard all his life. As an electrician, he was a master craftsman and a perfectionist, never a rich man but always a proud man. His Jewish faith and traditions were very important to him. He always treated people with respect and dignity. Kurt approached life with optimism and a positive spirit, never looking backward or dwelling on past problems. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and happily provided assistance for anyone in need. Kurt was truly one of a kind. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 30 at the Etz Chayim Synagogue with interment at the Hebrew Sick Benefit Cemetery. Rabbi Henry Balser and Cantor Tracy Kasner Greaves officiated. Pallbearers were Marshall, Andrew and Iain Terhoch, Jim Harris, Daniel Billinkoff and Reese Feder. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Amber Meadow for contributing to Kurt's happiness during the past year. As well, we would like to thank The Sharon Home for supporting Kurt during Pearl's illness. Donations may be made in Kurt's memory, to The Sharon Home or to a charity of your choice. Although gone from this world, Kurt remains forever within our hearts.
