JOHN SHEWCHUK Peacefully on February 9, 2006, John passed away at the Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 85 years. John will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Lena; daughters, Sylvia (Melvin) and Eileen (Rob); six grandchildren, Jill (James), Julie (Steven), Faye (Phillipe), Jeff, Kyle (Jen) and Janis; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Liam, Joel, Jack and Caden. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary; and his brothers, Bill and Mike. John was born in Stuartburn, MB on September 16, 1920. He was a longtime employee of National Cartage and CN Rail, where he retired from in 1981. The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home, Concordia Hospital and Maples Personal Care Home for their loving and compassionate care of Dad. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 13, at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
