ARTHUR CLARE ARMSTRONG It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandpa Arthur Clare Armstrong, aged 69 years of Winnipeg on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre. As per Art's request, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date. He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Lois; daughters, Lauree of Thompson, Lesley of Killarney and son Todd (Theresa) of Winnipeg; six grandchildren Kelly, Marsha, Jessie and Jennifer; Alison and Katie; as well as Todd and Theresa's new baby expected in June. Art is also survived by sisters, Peggy, Rose (Ray), Gwen and Regena (Ed), brother Barrie (Ethel), and brothers-in-law Jerry, Bill (Linda) and Dennis (Susan) Sparling, Maurice Hogeland and families. He was predeceased by his parents Rae and Lena Armstrong, sister Dorothy and brothers George, Ron and Gerald. Art was born in Hamiota, MB on October 25, 1936. He was truly a people person and always enjoyed a good conversation. Art enjoyed his summers at Brokenhead River Park, golfing, morning walks with Lois, his yard and garden. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and we are so thankful that he was a part of our lives. Art's family would like to thank the extraordinary doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital and Health Sciences Centre for their dedicated efforts and the kindness and compassion shown during a long and difficult night. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Art's family invites friends and family to join them for a time of fellowship and sharing on Sunday, February 12 between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the home of Todd and Theresa, 47 Avril Lane, Winnipeg. Do not stand by my grave and weep I am not there, I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow I am a diamond glint on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I am the gentle autumn rain, When you awake in the morning hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight I am the soft starshine at night Do not stand by my grave and cry I am not there....I did not die.
