RONALD JAMES CRERAN Peacefully and with great dignity, on February 2, 2006, Ron passed away at the age of 69. Left to miss him are his wife and best friend of 43 years Nettie; sons Jim and wife Catherine, Scott and wife Michelle; brothers Ken and wife Barb, Gord and wife Angela; grandchildren Kyle, Julia and Shanon; nieces, nephews and many friends. Unfortunately, Ron was unable to fulfill his wish of seeing his fourth grandchild, expected to Scott and Michelle, at the end of March. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Anne Creran. Ron had many fond memories of growing up with his brothers in West Kildonan. As a young man he joined the Winnipeg Fire Department and shortly after became a member of the City of Winnipeg Police Department, retiring in 1991. Ron often reflected on the many life long friendships he made over the course of his career. Ron enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a proud father and had fun watching his grandchildren grow. Weekly breakfasts with brother Ken were important and visits to and from Gord were held in high regard. In keeping with Ron's wishes, no service will be held. Ron greatly appreciated the visits of friends and family during his illness which made difficult days that much brighter. We wish to thank Dr. E. Pilat, Dr. L. Tan, The Palliative Home Care Program and the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the excellent care provided to Ron.
