MARY ELIAS (nee POZERNIUK) Mary passed away at age 82 suddenly and peacefully on February 8, 2006 in hospital at Courtenay, BC with her daughter Marcia at her side. Mary was born on October 24, 1923 in Rossdale, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John (1997), her brother Peter and his wife Marion and her grandson Chris. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Debra and Marcia; son Larry (Linda); beloved sisters, Jean and Teena; brother Albert; grandchildren, Aaron (Paulette) and Jason and great-grandchildren. Mary had a special place in her heart for her many nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. Mary also leaves behind her brother-in-law Julius (Mary), sister-in-law Mary and many dear friends. Mary will always be remembered as a caring and generous person who was devoted to her family. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Gonor with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment in the churchyard cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
