Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK ALEXANDER SETTER March 24, 1927 - February 8, 2006 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Fred passed away at the age of 78 years, at the Selkirk General Hospital. Fred was born in Winnipeg, MB, the eldest son of Bert and Kit. In 1953 he married Mary (Dilly) Beaver and settled in Selkirk where they raised their three children. For many years he worked with the Manitoba Highways Department and then with the Canadian Coast Guard in Selkirk where numerous friendships were made. Fred was predeceased by his parents; his brother Ken; sister-in-law Claire and his brother-in-law Lorne. Left to mourn his death are his wife Dilly; son Kevin (Melanie); daughters, Dawne (Mike) and Jo-Anne (Howie); six grandchildren, Jason (Laine) and great-granddaughter Ceilidh; Krystyn, Robin, Bill, Alex and Josh; brothers, Harvey (Joan) and Bob; sisters, Margaret and Myrna; sister-in-law Kathleen, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendy Gerbrandt, Wayne Beaver, Bryan Setter, Mike Lefteruk, Howie Binner and Andi McFadden. A service will be on Monday, February 13 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Viewing one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit program at the Selkirk General Hospital. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. WE NEED NOT MOURN THOSE WHO PASS FULFILLING THEIR DESTINY
