I was saddened to learn of John's passing. As a former resident of Cowan and Swan River I knew John as a police officer. He fulfilled his role with dignity and compassion. I also remember him as a wonderful community member with a warm heart and an engaging smile. I recall sitting with a group of farmers at a kitchen table as John discussed establishment of the Range Patrol. The prevailing comment after he left the meeting was "what a great guy". His positive presence was appreciated whether he was in or out of uniform. A "great guy" indeed! - Posted by: Leonard Harapiak (Acquaintance) on: Feb 14, 2006

Johnny B - I'll miss you my friend, since meeting you in Swan River in 1981 - you left an impression with me to this day. You always had that Brossart smile and had us always laughing and enjoying life in your company. I always looked forward in my travels to seeing you at Winnipegosis in recent years. Whenever we reminisced about old times in the Force - your name always came up. You will be missed! My condolences to your family - we have lost one heck of a nice guy!! - Posted by: Kevin Duckett (Friend) on: Feb 14, 2006
