WILLIAM (BILL) RALPH VINIE On February 12, 2006 at the age of 61, Bill Vinie finally reunited with his father after a heroic battle. Bill was predeceased by his father Ralph Vinie in 1984 and by his mother Hazel in 1996. Left to mourn his passing is Bill's wife of 39 years, Gloria; daughters, Danna (Greg) and Denise (Kevin); four grandchildren, Cole, Alex, Adam and Dain; step-mother Jean Vinie; step-brother Ross (Gail) Olson; step-sister Helen (Bob) Mitchell; half-sisters, Lila Wollman and Sheila Fagan; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Didsbury, AB on Nov. 25, 1944 and moved to Manitoba in 1950 with his dad. He attended school in Selkirk and went on to join the Navy in 1963. He achieved his accounting 1 2 and worked at such places as Abex and the Rolling Mill. In 1970, he went to work for Selkirk Machine Works and later he spent many years as the bookkeeper for Purvis Navcon. Bill's happiest times were spent deer hunting and fishing with his dad and camping with his girls. He loved his old cars, motorcycles and the many pets he had. His pride and joy were his four grandchildren. A special thanks to Dr. Fuchs and the amazing nurses at the Selkirk General Hospital. Also to Bill's homecare nurse and workers. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Selkirk Palliative Care or the CancerCare Manitoba. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
