RENATE ELLA BERTA FRIEDERIKA GRUNDMANN (nee KLINGENBERG) January 5, 1934 - February 11, 2006 Predeceased by husband Friedrich of 35 years. Survived by eight children, Gudrun (Hubert, predeceased) Weiss, Norrie Grundmann, Thekla (Darrell) Isford, Olaf (Cathy) Grundmann, Esther (Doug) McGimpsey, Del (Sharlene) Grundmann, Fred, Dorothy; 15 grandchildren, David (Angie), Daniel (Angela), Jeremiah (Chelsey), Sharla (Cory), Luke, Leah, Andrea (Roger), Garrett, Craig, Jason, Bradley, Randy, Rebekah, Kyle, Emily; four great-grandchildren, Damon, Stefen, Carrie, William; two brothers in Germany, Kurt (Helga) and Willi (Eva) Klingenberg and their families. Following a short illness, our beloved Mother and Oma went to be with the Lord. She will be sadly missed by her large family and many friends. She was born in Angerode, Germany in 1934. She married Friedrich Grundmann December 25, 1951. They immigrated to Canada in 1957 with their three children and settled in Winnipeg. They went on to grow their family with five more children. Mom strived to provide the best loving home for her family. Mom's life was not without adversity but throughout any situation she remained strong, patient and in control. She took life in stride, always seeing the positive. Mom and Dad lived their lives loving the Lord and as a result, all their children follow their example. Mom was always there to help, a true servant at heart. She spent many years volunteering at Baptist camp, babysitting countless children for the Mom's Group, making bandages and linens that were to be sent to Africa through the White Cross Organization and several other activities. Thank you for being such an awesome Mom, Oma and Great-oma. You are an example of love and how to live life to the fullest. Thank you for your energy and motivation to go the extra mile in all you did, especially for your kids and grandkids. You will be dearly missed and your example of life and putting others first will live on through us. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Ave. with viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lake Nutimik Camp. Friends Funeral Service 339-5555.
