LUCIEN RIGAUX

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLUCIEN RIGAUX Passed away peacefully on February 14, 2006 at the Victoria General Hospital. Lucien will be sadly missed by his wife Juliette; children, Joan Temple (Brian Solnes), Ken (Marge), Carol DeBaets (Dan), Dennis (Karen), Linda Hoxworth (Mark) and Lori Pouteau (Wayne); 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Lucien is also survived by his brothers, Maurice and Remi (Yvonne) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Lucien was born on a farm near St. Alphonse, MB on January 7, 1918. In 1941 he married Juliette DeDecker and together they farmed near Mariapolis. For many years he drove a school bus and in later years he worked for Kimberley Clark as a flax straw buyer. He loved sports, playing pool, Belgium bowling, daily crossword puzzles and he especially enjoyed playing a card game of Bien with family and friends. Together Lucien and Juliette had many years of enjoyment as fans of the Mariapolis Blues Fastball Team, socializing at the Friendship Club and Sunday night Bingo in Mariapolis. Lucien had a great sense of humour. He had a wonderful relationship with all of his grandchildren and he made each of them feel very special. In 1994 Lucien and Juliette relocated to Winnipeg where they enjoyed the many friends they made at Kirchoff Gardens. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East and Navin Road with Rev. Fr. Fred Olds officiating. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the service. A reception will follow. Cremation with interment to take place in Mariapolis, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucien's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, CancerCare Manitoba, or the Canadian Diabetes Association. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy.
