STANLEY CYRIL ANDERSON December 23, 1922 - February 14, 2006 It is with great sadness and loss that we announce the passing of Stanley Anderson on February 14, 2006 at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home. Dad waged a courageous battle against Alzheimer's and declining health for the last four years. He passed away peacefully with Helen, Daryl and Lea at his side, with daughter Sharon sending love and prayers from a trip overseas. Stan will be sadly missed by wife Helen Anderson of Penticton; sister Evelyn Forster; daughter Sharon Sinclair (Lorne), grandchildren, Hank (Karen), Darren (Jessie), great-grandchildren, Justin, Preston; daughter Lea Bangert (Brian), grandchildren, Kelby, Elise; son Daryl Anderson (Barb) of Vancouver. His extended family, Karen Cousins (Tim), Larry Crichton (Jill) and Paul Leech (Janice), as well as Pauline of Nanaimo; in-laws / out-laws, Lyle and Eve Siles of Winnipeg, Gord and Alice McMullen of Twaissan, BC and Nadine and John Tolman of Duncan, BC. Plus numerous nephews and nieces. Stan was predeceased by his brothers, Alf, Gil, Art, Herman and sister Esther. Dad was born and raised in Garson, MB and was very proud of the fact his father Berger Anderson served as town councillor. He left to serve four years in the Second World War in Europe. Returned to Winnipeg to marry Pauline. As he was a people-person, he worked for many years in the sales field, which took him to Saskatoon, then to Vancouver. This is where he met Helen and enjoyed raising his pride and joy, son Daryl. He returned to Winnipeg 14 years ago and has since developed many friendships doing security work, then living at Kent Towers, Summerland Apartments, Quest Inn, Vista Park Lodge and Meadowood Manor. Even through his illness, many people will remember what a wonderful fellow Stan was, always full of life, quick humour and energy walking and dancing about. Cremation has taken place. All who knew Dad are invited to share in a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 17 at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home 577 St. Anne's Rd., St. Vital. Interment will take place at a later date in the summer. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Meadowood for their loving and compassionate care of Dad. And to Pastor Hamm for enriching Dad's life with God's love and messages. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan's memory to Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, 577 St Anne's Rd., Winnipeg, MB or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald, Winnipeg, MB.
