GODELIEVE P. VANNEVEL (nee SIMOENS) It is with deep sadness that we announce that Godelieve Vannevel passed away peacefully at the Vista Park Lodge on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Born in Ghent, Belgium, on January 13, 1913, she came to Canada with her father, mother and older brother in 1919, moving to the Norwood - St. Boniface area, residing there ever since. Godelieve is survived by her loving husband Maurice; her four sons and their wives, Paul (Marie), Marcel (Noella), Raymond (Judy), Frank (Karen); nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family in Canada, Belgium and in the United States. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Elsie Johnson and Yvonne Vannevel. Godelieve was predeceased by her father and mother, Godfroid and Marie-Louise Simoens; her brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Mary Simoens; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leo and Marguerite Jansens; and brothers-in-law, Arthur Johnson and Gerry Vannevel. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Vista Park Lodge for the wonderful care she received while she was in residence there. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire donations in Godelieve's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. A memorial service celebrating Godelieve's life will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the E. J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J.
