MARLO KRAMER We the family, regretfully announce the peaceful passing of Marlo Kramer, in Gimli, MB, on February 14, 2006. He was 78. Born in Jwkowa, Poland on October 22, 1927, Marlo immigrated to Canada at the age of 3 with his parents, Frank and Frances Shepanski. Marlo grew up on a farm in Rich Valley, AB and thereafter travelled extensively throughout Canada and the United States before settling to raise a family in California. He returned to Canada to spend his later years with family in Gimli. Dad led a rich life. He was at different times a prospector, miner, computer programmer and systems analyst. His fondest and constant occupation though, was as a philosopher, poet, scholar and writer. Marlo had many interests and hobbies. He was passionate about horticulture, art and music. One of Marlo's greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his lively sense of humour. Predeceased by his parents, Marlo is survived by his brothers, Carl and Richard; sisters, Mary and Nell; sons, Kevin, Ryan (Heather), Laurence (Theresa); daughters, Linda (Bruce), Marianne (Joop); and grandchildren, Jackson, Tiberius, Allysandra; Isabelle; Kaela and Melodi; Sarah, Jared and Daran. We would like to thank the care givers at Betel Home and Gimli Hospital, and Marlo's doctor, R.C. Patel, for their exceptional care and support. A memorial service will be held in Gimli at the Betel Chapel on Saturday, February 18, at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Betel Home, Gimli, the Healing Garden in care of Gimli Hospital, or the National M.S. Society of Canada. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I spent a few summers with Marlo and his kids back in early seventies. I never saw him or his kids again but would have loved to. This was the first and only news I have had from the Kramers and feel very sorry I did not get a chance to see Marlo again before his passing. - Posted by: Howard(Howie) Leaver (Friend) on: Dec 23, 2013
