Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHEL FIRMIN JOSEPH BERARD It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michel Firmin Joseph Berard. After a lengthy battle with his health, Michel lost the battle on February 15, 2006 at the age of 41 at the Desalaberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre. Beloved son of Fernand and Bernadette, Michel was born March 7, 1964. He grew up and lived most of his life in St. Pierre. Michel started school in St. Pierre, and then attended SRSS where he took electronics. He later pursued a career as a welder, and in 1988 became a proud member of the Ironworker Local 728. Michel loved the outdoors. In the summer time, he enjoyed taking long rides on his motorcycle and in the winter time, he enjoyed adventures on his snowmobile. One of his fondest memories was his trip on snowmobile to Valcourt, QC. But his passion was flying and in 1984, Michel obtained his pilot's license, after which he spent many hours circling the sky around St. Pierre. Michel went through many difficult times, we will forever miss him and we shall never forget him. He leaves to mourn his parents, Fernand and Bernadette (Lahaie); three brothers, Roger (Colette), Maurice (Florence), Norman (Colette); and one sister Louise Badiou (Marc). He also leaves to mourn eight nieces and nephews: Danielle, Julien, Chantal and Gabriel (Chantal Desrosiers and Annie) Berard and Joel, Jilliane, Daphnee and Kasia Badiou. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Nicole. The family would like to thank the staff at the Desalaberry District Health Centre for their care and compassion. The memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18 at the St. Pierre Catholic Church with Father Lalonde officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michel's memory to the Desalaberry District Health Centre - Palliative Care, St. Pierre-Jolys, MB R0A 1V0.
