SARAH KIRSCHMAN (nee DOERKSEN) December 31, 1947 - February 14, 2006 Peacefully, with her family at her side, Sarah passed away on February 14, 2006 at the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by parents, David and Margaret Doerksen; sister Tina Johnson. Sarah is lovingly remembered by husband Gary of 37 years; sons, Farron (Carmen) and Wayne (Arlene); grandsons, Clay and Kurt. She is survived by Margaret Buhler of Burns Lake, BC, Liz Ferguson of Gladstone, MB, Mary Venne (Alex) of Franklin, MB, Anne Reimer (David) of Gladstone, MB, Gay McFarlane of McGregor, MB, David Doerksen (Joyce) of Red Cliff, AB, Frank Doerksen of Red Cliff, AB, Peter Doerksen of Helston, MB, Jake Doerksen (Tina) of Austin, MB, Abe Doerksen of Edmonton, AB, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sarah was born in Helston, the third youngest daughter of David and Margaret Doerksen who farmed there. Sarah then moved to Winnipeg to pursue a career as a Nurses Aide. She met her husband Gary at a dance in Winnipeg and later moved to Balmoral. Sarah and Gary spent the last 38 years together operating the family custom poultry business. Sarah spent all of her time with her husband, sons, and grandchildren. A special thanks to all staff at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital. The nurses went above and beyond their call of duty caring for Sarah during her stay. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to all friends and family for their visits, phone calls, support and friendship. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. Friends may call from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Interment will take place at Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral.
