LORRAINE WALLIS (nee THOMPSON) 1916 - 2006 Peacefully, surrounded by her family, our mother, grandma, and great-grandma, Lorraine, passed away on February 5, 2006, at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Cyril, and her daughter-in-law, Marj Wallis. She is survived by her children, Beverly Papageorgiou (Michael), Gerry (Pat), Linda Tsouras (George), and Ron; grandchildren, Don and Dave Wallis, Lori Capuno (Edmond), Kathy Jensen (Chris), George Papageorgiou (Andrea), Jenn Allan (Todd), Jon and Jackelyn Tsouras, Lyndsey and Matthew Wallis; and great-grandchildren, Breanne and Taylor Wallis, Katrina and Alex Capuno, Rey Jensen, and Michael Papageorgiou. She will be missed by all of her wonderful friends from the block . To Gram: You had a lot of determination and a little stubbornness. You never gave up and always spoke your mind. The most valuable things we learned from you were to always be productive; always be good to your neighbours; and always keep your sense of humour. You leave us with memories we treasure; Valentine cookies baked for grandchildren's classmates. Garage sales where you became a shrewd businesswoman. Haircuts that always needed a little more trimmed off. Shopping trips with four generations of our family. Saturday dinners where have some more was your motto. Knitted blankets and booties that continue to keep us warm. Making jam and pickles in the fall. Hand picked shells from Florida for your grandchildren every year. Lucky coins in pieces of birthday cake. Making ringlets out of straight hair. Yahtzee games and playing thirty-one for nickels. You are loved and missed and will be remembered for generations. A private family service was held on February 9. Do you want ice cream with that? We will miss those Saturday night dinners.
