CHARLES MURRAY 1919 - 2006 Passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at the age of 86 years, beloved husband of 50 years of Gladys (Cherrett). He was predeceased by his mother and father, Alice and Robert (Bob) Murray; his sisters, Roberta Wood and Vi Bennett. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Gladys and their children, Michael Murray (Sue), Sylvia Lake (Dennis) and Ron Prynne (Connie); grandchildren, Sam Braun (C.J.), Lee Murray (Nicole), Jackie Hibbert (Pete), Andrew Lake (Karen), Greg Prynne, Grant Prynne (Shelly), Ron Prynne Jr. (Vivian) and Vince Prynne (Jackie). He will also be lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Braun, Amy Hibbert, Dominic Lizee-Prynne, Gabrielle Lizee-Prynne, Ron Prynne III, Derek Harrison, Zachary Prynne and Karsen Prynne; and many nieces and nephews. Charlie joined the service in Vancouver in 1939. He served overseas until 1945 when he returned to Winnipeg and joined Winnipeg Transit where he retired in 1984. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion No. 16, Red River Masonic Lodge No. 172 and P.P.C.L.I. Gladys and Charlie were married in 1956 and enjoyed many happy years in St. Vital. He moved to Deer Lodge Centre in October, 2005. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will take place in St. Vital Cemetery.
