Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHERESE Marie RosS (nee MULAIRE) Our mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother, Thérèse, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on Thursday, February 16, 2006. Her life ended at the hospital situated only meters away from where her parents' home once stood, the house where she was born. Mom was born on August 17, 1916, in St-Pierre-Jolys, the 11th of the 12 children of Joseph Hilaire and Amanda (Beauvais) Mulaire. She came to Winnipeg as a young adult and found work at the St. Boniface General Hospital, in the chapel. She married Alexander William Ross in 1940 and they had three daughters, Marcelle, Jacqueline and Gabrielle. At the age of 47, Thérèse took a secretarial course at Success Business College, after which she was employed by the personnel department at Taché Hospital for several years. Always a lover of books, she really found her niche at the St. Boniface Library, where she worked until her retirement at the age of 65. This left her plenty of time for her other passion, crafting. Her crocheted angels will always adorn our Christmas trees. Mom resided at the Chez-nous on rue Cathédrale for over 25 years before joining her only remaining sibling, her younger brother Jean-Baptiste, at the Chalet Malouin in St-Malo in October 2004. Thérèse was predeceased by her parents, her siblings le grand Jean-Baptiste, Télèsphore, Emery, Jean-Marie, Joseph, Sr. Marie Amanda s.n.j.m., Sr. Marie Sévérine s.n.j.m., Sr. Marguerite Mulaire m.i.c., Maria Croteau, and Jeanne Garcenot; also her husband Alexander and her son-in-law Randall Meyer. She is survived by her brother J.B.; her children, Marcelle LeBlanc (Maurice), Jacqueline Ross, and Gabrielle Mortlock (Steve); her grand-children, Michelle MacRae (David), Robert, Janine, Daniel, and Leanne LeBlanc, Pamela Ross, Sarah Bugera, Jesse, Kyle, Bretton and Devon Meyer, and Chase Mortlock, and three great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jennifer MacRae, and Samantha LeBlanc, as well as many nieces and nephews. The pallbearers will be Robert and Daniel LeBlanc, David MacRae, Jesse and Kyle Meyer, and Thérèse's nephew, Lucien Croteau. We would like to thank the staff at the Chalet Malouin for their care during Mom's stay there, and Dr. R. Strank and the staff at the hospital in St-Pierre for the wonderful care and compassion shown Mom and her family. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21 at the St. Boniface Cathedral. Interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in her memory to the Palliative Care Unit in care of the DeSalaberry Hospital Guild, Box 66, St-Pierre-Jolys, MB R0A 1V0.
