AMELIA (MINNIE) ELIZABETH KUBARA (nee MOLINSKI) August 14, 1923 February 16, 2006 With heavy hearts we announce that Amelia Kubara, of Vancouver, BC, passed away peacefully at age 82 on February 16, 2006, with her daughter at her side, after a lengthy illness. Amelia leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory her three children and six grandchildren, Linda West, husband Bruce, grandsons, Daryl and Craig of Surrey, BC; Russ Kubara, wife Joan, granddaughters, Stacey (Jason) Pellaers, Sherry (Pat) Kaniuga and Cristy of Winnipeg, MB; and Ron Kubara, wife Lynne, grandson Brent of Surrey, BC. She was predeceased by her husband John of 42 years, in 1989; parents, Frank and Anne Molinski, brothers, Frank, Leo, Adolph and Albert; and sisters, Rose, Jean and Stella. Amelia was born in 1923 in Ladywood, MB and moved to Winnipeg in her teens. She later met her husband John and together they raised their three children in Winnipeg, and then moved to Vancouver in 1969. Amelia loved to travel, laugh and share a story or two. She enjoyed being with people, singing, dancing, watching sports and working in her garden, among many other activities. She also took great pride and pleasure in cooking delicious meals for her family and grandchildren. Prayers will be held Wednesday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. and funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1345 West 73rd Avenue, Vancouver, BC, (604) 266-6131. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC. We love and miss you, Mom, Baba, Grandma. May you rest in peace.
