Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER WALTER NEUSTAEDTER May 17, 1971 - February 12, 2006 The family sadly announces the passing of Chris on February 12, 2006 while working in Portugal. Chris is survived by his wife, Kara and children, Luke (7 years) and Violet (5 years). They were the light of his life. Also surviving him are his parents, Walter and Sandra Neustaedter; and brothers, Jason (fiancee Anna) and Eric (girlfriend Roxanne); grandmother Helen Neustaedter, great-aunt/grandmother figure, Ada Sansom; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be sadly missed by Kara's family, parents in-law Wayne and Gayle Anderson, Marla (boyfriend Adam) and Lisa (boyfriend Ian) all of British Columbia. Chris was predeceased by his grandmother Violet Sansom; grandfathers Stan Sansom and Dan Neustaedter; and his cousin, Randy Neustaedter. Chris grew up on the farm near Crystal City, MB and in Winkler and Winnipeg. His working life was spent doing house framing in Winnipeg, commercial construction in Nanaimo, site supervising for his dad's company in Winnipeg, and over the last seven years Core Sample/ Diamond Drilling at various sites around the world. Chris loved to fish whether it was ice or summer fishing in Manitoba or mountain stream or ocean fishing in Nanaimo. He was teaching his children how to fish this past summer. Many happy times were spent at the cottage in Victoria Beach. When at home he most enjoyed working in his yard and garden or on the house, backyard Bar-B-Q's, playing with his kids, watching Hockey Night in Canada with his children cuddled beside him or a movie and a fire crackling in the fireplace with Kara. He looked forward to an evening of hanging out with his brothers and his dad playing pool at the Cue Club or going with his brothers and buddies to Wing Night at Smitty's. He loved family dinners at The Ranch as he called his parents home and if one hadn't taken place for a while, he'd just plan it and invite everyone over because it was time . The family wishes to extend thanks for the generous support of family, friends and co-workers who have poured their love upon us and given us strength. Chris' life will be celebrated February 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church 465 Stafford St. (one block south of Grant Avenue) Interment and reception to follow.
