SILVERIA GABRIEL (nee MARTINEZ) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty and friend at the Health Sciences Centre on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Silveria was predeceased by her husband Valeriano as well as her children Teresita and Arturo. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory; her children; Lucia (Eduardo), Alejandro (Auring), Emerita, Antonio (Cora), Carol, Armando (Lynn), Joselito (Elizabeth) and Ronaldo; her grandchildren Boy, Alex, Nelson, Rowena, Noel, Junior, Eva, Christopher, Paul, Leonard, Jomarie, Rosemarie, Carlos, Oscar, Mary Kris, Alexander, Josephine, Christopher, Faith, Andrea, Tristan and Victoria; nephews Alberto (Lucy) and their children, Arnell (Susan) and their children, Alice (Arnoldo) and their children; as well as many great grandchildren and a host of good friends. Silveria was born in Manila, Philippines in 1926 and was raised by her grandmother from a young age. There she met and married Valeriano Gabriel and this union was blessed with ten children. Silveria was deeply devoted to the church, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was an active member of the community. She was also a very talented seamstress. Silveria immigrated to Canada in 1975, where she worked in nursing homes as a dietary aid until her retirement in 1989. Viewing will be held from 6-12 p.m. on Friday, February 24 with prayers at 8:00 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary's Ave. Interment and reception will follow at Glen Eden. Pallbearers will be Carlos, Oscar Jr., Tristan, Chris, Alex, John, Manny, Paul, Leonard, and Joe. Thank you mom for all you Have given us and taught us; You will always be in our hearts.
