ANNE DELORME (April 12, 1921 - February 19, 2006) It is with great sadness, our family announces the passing of Anne DeLorme on February 19, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 84 years. Our mother and nanny will be sadly missed by son Bernie DeLorme of Calgary and daughter Shirley (David) Hirst; grandchildren, Darren and Donna DeLorme of Calgary, Jeffrey (Angela) Hirst and Debra Hirst (fiancé Derek Grech); and brother John Hryce of Vancouver. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Paul DeLorme; her parents, Nicholas and Maria Hrycewicz; sister Jennie and brother Peter. Anne was born on April 12, 1921 in Cloverleaf, MB; raised and educated in Transcona, MB, then moved to Winnipeg where she met Paul. Later, she returned with Paul and family to Transcona where they spent many happy years together on Victoria Avenue East. In 1959, the family moved to the West End of Winnipeg. Between 1955 to 1964, Anne worked at The Bay and Eaton's. In 1965, due to Paul's transfer with Air Canada, along with Shirley they relocated to Montreal. During the Expo'67 years, Anne and Paul displayed their gift of hospitality to family and friends. After Paul's untimely passing in 1968, Anne returned with Shirley to Winnipeg. Anne had a heart of gold. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother and nanny. She always cherished the times she spent with family and friends. Anne enjoyed bowling, curling, sewing, gardening, cooking, playing cards and bingo and travelling. She was a member of the Transcona Legion and Air Canada Retirees. We will all remember Anne's great sense of humour, zest for life and warm, friendly smile. The family would like to thank everyone for their sympathy, prayers, love and support. Special thanks to Dr. N. Finlayson and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital. In accordance with Anne's wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Anne's life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6 or CancerCare MB, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
