KATHLEEN MAY HUDSON May 21, 1912 - February 17, 2006 We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother on Friday, February 17, 2006 at the Grace Hospital. Kathleen leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband of 72 years, Harvey; her six children, Jim (Marilyn) Clearwater, MB; Joyce Mott (Bill) Gunton, MB; Margaret McTavish, Winnipeg; Pat Guy (Tom) Edmonton, AB; Beverley Fischer (Wayne) Dawson City, Yukon and Linda Layte (Bill Goertzen) Pinawa, MB. She will be lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Annie Ridgeway, her brothers Valentine, Harry and Eustace and her son-in-law Alvin McTavish. Mom was born on May 21, 1912 on her parent's farm in the Cypress District. She and Dad were married in 1933 and began their life together in the Crystal City District then later moving to the Mather and Clearwater districts. In 1956 the family moved to Winnipeg and Mom enjoyed life in the city. In 1968 she took a job with the Winnipeg School Division as a teacher's aide, a job she loved, helping with the children. She retired in 1977 to join Dad in retirement, travelling to visit family members across the country. Music was always a big part of mom's life, starting as a young girl when she played the organ at Rosebud church. She loved to sing, play her piano and up to a week before her passing she was singing and clapping her hands to the music. Mom loved crocheting, knitting, her plants and flowers and playing cribbage with Dad. Family members will treasure the afghans she made for them with her unique patterns and color combinations. Mom was a kind and gentle lady who was dedicated to her husband and family. Rest in peace mom. Wonderful memories will keep you alive in our hearts forever.
