VANNEVEL It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Maurice Vannevel, peacefully in his sleep at his residence on February 21, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Maurice was born in St. Boniface on June 3, 1912 and resided there his entire life. He worked his entire career with Burns Foods as a shipper and receiver, retiring in 1977. He was a life long member of the Belgian Club and past president of the Belgian seniors Club. Maurice is survived by his four sons and their wives, Paul (Marie), Marcel (Noella), Raymond (Judy), Frank (Karen); nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, family in Canada, Belgium, and the United States. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Johnson and sister-in-law Yvonne Vannevel. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Godelieve exactly one week to the day of his passing. He was also predeceased by his parents, Charles and Stephanie Vannevel; sister Marguerite; and brother-in-law Leo Jansens, brother Gerry and brother-in-law Arthur Johnson and also brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Mary Simoens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maurice's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. A memorial service celebrating Maurice's life will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 2:00 p.m. in the E.
