Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER DAVID (AL) BENNETT 1927 2006 It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, Pops and GG on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the Grace Hospice. Remaining to forever cherish Al's memory are his wife Ivy (Vic), of 57 years of marriage; sons, Randy (Sherrie) and Bob (Susan); daughters, Deb Deacon (Tim) and Cheryl Soares (Rick Sciberras); daughter-in-law Laurie Bennett; sisters, Chris and Noreen (John); 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Art and Christine; brothers Art and Jim; and son Harry. Dad was born in Winnipeg on July 23, 1927 and grew up in St. James, where he lived most of his life. He joined the army during the Second World War and was demobilized in 1945. Dad met Mom shortly thereafter, and they were wed in 1949. He worked at Winnipeg Electric until reenlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1950 where he proudly served his country until 1972. After retiring dad started his own engraving business, AlBen Engraving, and worked for the Corps of Commissionaires until his health started to fail him. In keeping with Dad's wishes, a private family funeral service will be held. The family would like to thank Dr. Joshua, the Palliative Care staff and especially Dr. Hartley and the staff at the Grace Hospice who's kindness during Dad's last weeks was greatly appreciated by his family. If friends so desire, donations in Al's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Al's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
