WALTER ROBERT LEWIS TECKLENBURG Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Walter passed away on February 21, 2006 at the Middlechurch Nursing Home. Walter leaves to mourn and cherish his memory daughter Louise (Tim) Maciejkow, grandchildren Andrew, Jeremy and Sarah. Also long time friends Cathy Moir and Neil Charnock, Lauren and Hannah. He was predeceased by his wife Anne on September 21, 2004, also one brother and six sisters. Walter was born in Yorkton, SK on March 5, 1929. He found his way across Canada as a young man. He married Anne in Ottawa where their daughter Louise was born. While working for Sears, he was transferred to Winnipeg where he remained for the next 47 years. After owning his own business, he was employed as the Credit Manager of Westburne Amesco until his retirement in 1995. Walter loved the outdoors especially caring for his goats on their family farm. He was in demand by family and friends for his handyman expertise. Walter was always willing to help anyone in need. Walter was a quiet and unassuming gentleman. He had a vast general knowledge. There is nothing more he enjoyed than a good political debate. He was kind and caring and never complained about life's challenges. The family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Caners and the compassionate and caring staff at Middlechurch Nursing Home. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Friends that wish to pay their respects are invited to join the family for a celebration of Walter's life on Sunday, February 26, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at his daughter's home, 2055 Agar Ave., East St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
