HELEN CARR Peacefully, on February 20, 2006, Helen Carr passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 83 years. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Katherine; brothers, Nestor, Sam; and nephew Bob. She will be sadly missed by her sister Mary Citulec, nephew Larry (Shirley) Citulec, their family, Sherri-Lyn (Andrew), their children, Heather and Lindsay, Carolyn (Dave), their children, Brianna and Alexander; niece Barbara Carr, her family, Debbie (Murray), their children, Kristin and Adam, Doug (Diane), their children, Meaghan, Bob and Niki, other relatives and friends. Helen was born June 13, 1922 in East Kildonan, attending Polson and Lord Wolseley Schools. She spent her early years working at Supercraft before beginning her long career with MTS, where she quickly became known for her strong work ethic and developed many close and lasting friendships. Helen enjoyed spending holiday time with her family and her travels took her to Saskatoon, Vancouver, Hawaii and the family cottage at Farlane. Bielah had a flare for fashion and was always the life of the party, everyone waiting for the latest in her endless supply of jokes. A visit to Helen and Mary's was guaranteed to be full of laughter, good food and drink. Family was always the centre of Helen's life. She cherished her father and mother, providing loving care to her mom in her later years. As Bob and Larry's families grew she took great pride in them. Helen was the aunt who bridged the gap between the generations of our family. Church was always an important part of Helen's life. She was an active member of the CWL at Holy Eucharist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering at many functions. The family wishes to thank the staff on St. John's Ward at Holy Family and the staff of 4, Unit 1 at Seven Oaks for all their care and compassion. According to Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Parkinson Foundation of Manitoba or Special Olympics Manitoba.
